first, cody was able to take an afternoon off last week, so we headed to the x games. not something that was really on my bucket list, but how could we not go? i'm glad we did, it was pretty awesome. we're hoping to make it again next year to see some of the big air events!
it was seriously hot. like 92 degrees. like so hot you don't even try to hide that you are sweating your eyeballs out. we tried to keep mae in her stroller in the shade as long as we could, but she just wanted to run free.
the event that was going on while we were there was the endo cross. it was pretty crazy.
as you can tell, we had front row seats. i was worried that the noise would scare mae, but she was totally enthralled. once the bikes started and the crowd was going, she was hooting and hollering right along with them. it was so funny.
she's one of those kids whose face gets bright red when she runs around. as you can tell, she did quite a bit of running and jumping...her new favorite activity.
as if mae wasn't enough of a ham before, she has become even more so. whenever she sees that someone is going to take a picture she says cheese, and squints her eyes.
because of the heat, we're doing all we can to stay cool. and i love that there are so many splash parks around here. you can find us there quite often. (and yes i'm one of those moms that makes her kid wear her shoes at the splash park. after so many spills on the wet concrete, i finally decided to go to the dark side or the dork side.)
we're so excited for our trip home! in three weeks we will be heading back to the VA. can't wait!
