Baby Shaq - 5 Months

Mae turned 5 months last week, and each month Cody's dad takes pictures of her (one of the many things i love about living close to our families).  He always takes amazing pictures, so here are a few...

The past few weeks, baby shaq has become quite the distracted eater. She's either looking around, sticking her fingers up my nose, or spitting her milk on me.  I'm not sure where she gets it, because her dad is a bottomless pit, and i do enjoy to eat.  I walked in on Cody feeding her the other day to find this

She has become very animated and playful, and Cody especially is enjoying every minute of it

look alike of the week

when mae was born, she had a full head of hair, and managed to keep that hair for quite a while.  much to my dismay, she is starting to lose some of the hairs on the side of her head.  on the bright side, she is holding on for dear life to the strands on top...which are getting quite long.  so, what we have is a cutting edge, fashion forward baby.  who's hair resembles that of a teenage disney star gone punk...

my baby is only 5 months and already she's being a rebel?! well, maybe she'll get it all out of her system now and when she's a teenager be a sweet little angel...one can dream right?

flashback friday

 well, i had a super cute dinner for cody all lined up yesterday for valentine's day, however that did not go as planned. the pizza dough was not cooperating.  so instead of making cute x's and o's with rolled and stuffed pizza...i had a badly misshapen log. meanwhile, my baby is starting to scream bloody murder. so i figured i would cook it first and try to slice it after.  well, not long had i gotten it in the oven and gotten mae calmed down when the smoke alarms started going off, causing mae to start screaming again.  when i finally got the smoke alarms to stop, i took the pizza log out to find it in such an ugly shape that there was no rescuing it.  lucky for me i have a husband who will eat pretty much anything, and despite it's ugly shape, the pizza log was actually quite delish.
so,  amidst all of this i had the idea yesterday to do throwback thursday, but my evening was shot after the pizza debacle, instead i resorted to flashback friday.  here are a few of the gems that i came across...

it's hard to believe that next week mae will be 5 months old, i feel like we've always had her.  but at the same time, it's flown by.

our baby shaq is growing fast, she's about 29 inches, and when she was last weighed she was 16 pounds.  she loves to kick and wiggle.  bath time is her favorite, and she splashes until the the walls and mommy are soaked.  she loves music. and gets a big smile on her face when Naughty By Nature comes on (she is definitely her mother's daughter).  Also, Aunt Mattie and Uncle Erich introduced her to "Thrift Shop". 

Her little personality is starting to come out and she's got some spunk...we love it!

numero uno!

well...it's official. i'm a blogger!  after years of admiring cousins, sisters-in-law and friend's blogs, i decided to start one. as for the name of my blog, munch is what my cousins call me, and munchkin is for my little munchkin Mae Anne.
